How did you know this career was what you wanted to do?
When I went to Ohio State for a summer workshop at the end of my Freshman year in High School.

What other careers did you consider?
Lawyer, Accountant.

What experiences in your life developed your interest in your career?
Coaches and Athletic Director of my high school.

What early preparations did you take (in high school and college) to reach your career goal?
Worked as a student athletic trainer for 3 years in high school and 4 years in college. Worked at an area high school while getting my Master's degree.

What things did you find to be difficult as you prepared for your career?
Time management.

How did you overcome these challenges?
Set priorities and followed them.

Yes

8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. most days, except game days which could be until 9 or 10 p.m.

40-50

School District

What do you see as strengths needed for your career?
Time management, organization, stress reduction skills, communication skills, patience.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping the athletes, interaction with coaches.

What advice would you give to those who are interested in your career?
Organize yourself, come to work happy, work to live- don't live to work.

If you could start over, would you still make the same decision to pursue education?
most likely but I would get dual credentialed as either a physical therapist or physician assistant.

Do you plan to pursue opportunities for advancement in your career field?
I am at the top of where I want to be. I may get CSCS certification if I believe it will work for me.
