Public Health is concerned with addressing the community's health through health protection, health promotion, disease prevention, and disease control. Public health focuses on the health of populations or groups of people, not on the specific treatment and healthcare for an individual.

To improve the well-being of many people, the field of public health offers a variety of options. They may specialize in research, biostatistics, health education, environmental health and safety, health information, school health, communicable disease control, occupational health and more. Occupations in public health have grown to include community health worker, health educator, biostatistician, epidemiolo-gist, demographer, environmental health specialist-and also includes doctors, nurses, other health professionals and even journalists.
