Length of Training
To become a Registered Nurse takes two to four years in a community college, university or hospital-based program. However, most nurse informatics specialists hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with training and education in information technology and computer sciences.

Licensure/Certification

A nurse informatics specialist will hold an active registered nurse license (see Registered Nurse), even though the informatics feld includes little to no direct patient care.
