Length of Training
To become a certified cancer registrar, you will need to acquire at least an associate’s degree, undergo job-specific training, and be certified by a national testing board.

Licensure/Certification
With an associate’s degree and training requirements, the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) ofers a certifcate in cancer registry, the national Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) exam. If further training after the associate’s degree or certificate is desired, you can pursue a bachelor’s degree with a specialization in tumor registry. Certification requires annual continuing education.
